A four hour bus ride to Moorhead is never an easy jaunt. This year, a talented Concordia team makes a game there all the more challenging.
The Pipers (6-6, 3-4 MIAC) face the second place Cobbers (9-4, 6-2) Stoday at Memorial Auditorium in a 3:00 p.m. game.
Hamline is coming off a last-gasp 74-73 loss at Hutton Arena Wednesday night to St. Olaf. HU led most of the way only to see the Oles rally in the last minute and convert a four-point play with 0.2 seconds remaining to steal away with the verdict.
Dior Ford had a career high 27 points and
Victor Easter has his first career double-double (10 points, 10 assists) to lead the HU offense. They'll get a test from a Concordia team that recently found its offensive mojo and has won six straight games. CC's average of 79.5 points per game rnaks second in the league, slightly ahead of the Pipers, who check in at 77.4. The biggest obstacle in the Pipers' path tomorrow may be 6-10 center Jason Huus, who leads the MIAC with a 62 per cent field goal percentage.
To combat this, Hamline may have to be fleet of foot and use some sleight of hand. HU averaged 10.7 steals per game, tops in the league.
This is the second game of a busy five games-in-10 days segment for the Pipers. On Monday, January 14, they host Bethel at Hutton Arena. Wednesday, January 16 sees them at St. John's and it wraps up with a January 19 game against Carleton at Hutton.
