Box Score Dior Ford was a handful of offense that Concordia was unable to contain all day. Unfortunately for the Piper men's basketball team, the Cobbers had too many weapons and pulled away at the end for a 78-67 victory.
Ford, a sophomore, had a game high 21 points and 13 rebounds. But the Cobbers countered that with four players scoring in double digits.
Wes Pinera assisted Ford with 10 points. The Pipers did a good job on Concordia's 6-10 Jason Huus, limiting him to six points and five rebounds.
Hamline's
Cardon Harris led all boarders with seven as the Pipers out-rebounded the Cobbers, 40-38. Concordia countered that with a perfect 13-for-13 game at the free throw line and kept care of the ball, committing just six turnovers.
HU scored the game's first four points. CC responded quickly and took the lead only to see HU sneak back ahead, 26-24. The Cobbers went on a 13-6 run to end the half and went to the locker room with a 37-32 lead.
Ford hit a jumper to start the second half to make it 37-34. The three point margin was as close as Hamline could get. The Cobbers pushed back and forged a 14-point lead and staved off HU the rest of the way.
Hamline fell to 6-7 overall, 3-5 in the MIAC. They have a busy week coming up with three games. The first of those is Monday night when Bethel visits Hutton Arena for a 7:30 p.m. game.
