Box Score For most of the night, Hamline's men's basketball team, had things going the way they wanted it to. They pressured St. Olaf constantly on defense.
Dior Ford had a very good offensive game, fighting off foul trouble to score a career high 26 points and garner a team high seven rebounds.
But the persistent Oles wouldn't go away and coverted a four-point play with 0.2 seconds left to escape with a 74-73 victory before a large crowd at Hutton Arena.
Victor Easter added 10 points and six rebounds for Hamline, which fell to 6-6 overall, 3-4 in the MIAC.
In the first half, Hamline put the Oles on their heels early and kept up the pressure en route to a 32-26 intermission edge. They upped the margin to a dozen in the second session before the Oles (5-7, 4-3) slowly began to creep back.
In the end, it became a game of free throws. HU's final 13 points came from the line as the Oles made the game tighter until hitting a three-point shot and then converting a free throw of their own.
Hamline plays at Concordia Saturday and returns to Hutton Monday night to host Bethel.
