Box Score In their final football game of the season, Hamline won the battle of statistics with one exception. On a messy field, the Pipers outgained Macalester by 86 yards and held the ball for five minutes longer. But they couldn't dent the end zone in a 7-0 loss in the battle for The Paint Bucket at Macalester Stadium.

Austin Duncan wrapped up a brilliant season with 158 yards rushing. The super soph extended his HU single season rushing mark to 1460 yards for the season, tops in the MIAC. It was his ninth 100 yard plus game of the year.

He finished one yard ahead of Gustavus' Jeffrey Dubose for the overall title to become the first HU back to win a rushing crown in 29 years. Dave Abrahamson was the last to do so in 1985.

The Scots scored early ... on their second drive of the game. The rest of the afternoon, HU moved the ball in spurts. Their best drive came at the end of the game when they started at their own 19 and advanced as far as the Mac 35. But Gabe Martinez's pass fell incomplete near the goal line as the clock expired.

Hamline finished the season 2-8, a one-game improvement over a year. In addition to his rushing plaudits, Duncan led the team in scoring (48 points) and Total Offense (1599.) Naji El-Araby caught 32 passes for 316 yards. Despite not playing one game, Anthony Hill (1) led the team with 109 tackles, including 62 solos. His 59 solos in MIAC games led the league.

Eight seniors graduate from head coach Chad Rogosheske's first team.
