Late Goals Lift Women's Hockey to 2-2 Tie

The Hamline women's hockey team ended their first confernece series with something to build on. The Pipers rallied for two third period goals for a 2-2 OT tie with St. Catherine at Drake Arena in the conclusion of a two-game series.

It was the first point of the year for the Pipers, now 0-3-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the MIAC.

HU was trailing 2-0 in the third period when Jordan Verleye teamed up with Corinne Henning and Jenny Magill to connect on a power play at 10:42. Four minutes later, Magill fed Jaci Reinke, who netted the gametying goal. 

Hamline carried the play the rest of the way, outshooting SCU 12-5 in the third period and 28-21 for the game. Each team managed one shot in the extra session. Sam Stark had 19 saves in goal for the Pipers.

Hamline faces Gustavus Adolphus at Warner Coliseum next Friday, November 22. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
