Box Score

The HU men's hockey team made it interesting but the deficit was too much to handle. Anthony Wolfe (pictured) and Cody Mason scored third period goals six minutes apart but it wasn't enough as Gustavus Adolphus held on for a 5-2 win Friday night at Lund Arena in St. Peter.

John Sellie-Hanson had 37 saves in goal to keep HU (0-6-1, 0-1-1 MIAC) within striking range of the Gusties.

GAC scored once in the first period and added a pair in the second for a 3-0 lead. They connected again in the third before Wolfe combined with Mason and Joel Scatterelli at 8:24 to make it 4-1. Mason then teamed with Wolfe and Joe Rubbelke at 16:41 to make it 4-2 and cause some squirming in the hometown stands.

But the Gusties responded with a shorthanded goal to put the game out of reach.

The same teams will meet Saturday night at Oscar Johnson Arena. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
