2/15/2013 10:04:00 PM

Box Score Better late than never. Corinne Henning (pictured with puck) scored with one second left in regulation time to lift the HU women's hockey team to a 3-3 OT tie with St. Catherine Friday night at Drake Arena.

The Pipers (5-12-5, 2-10-3 MIAC) face the Wildcats Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Warner Coliseum.

It was a game of streaks. HU struck first when Chelsea Koehn took a pass from Haley Johnson and directed it home at 13:45 of the first period for a 1-0 lead.

The Wildcats tied it up in the second to set up a wild third period. SCU struck first at 2:27 but Haleigh Bolton responded 61 seconds later to tie the game at 2.

The Wildcats took the lead again at 7:05 and kept it until the late going. HU goalie Sarah Schneekloth was pulled for a sixth attacker with 1:11 left. The Pipers' pressure finally paid off when  Jordan Verleye and Johnson teamed up with Henning to knot the game for the final time.

Each team finished with 31 shots on goal.
