Box Score Haley Johnson got things headed in the right direction. But St. Catherine, with an eye on a possible playoff spot, fought back to outlast the Piper women's hockey team, 3-1, Saturday afternoon at Warner Coliseum.
Johnson (pictured) took a pass from
Jordan Verleye and ripped a shot home 10:11 into the game to give Hamline the early edge. But the Wildcats, who moved into a tie for the fifth and final playoff spot with the win, replied 83 seconds later.
SCU broke the tie in the second period and added an insurance marker in the final frame.
Sarah Schneekloth had 23 saves in goal for HU, which fell to 5-13-5 overall (2-11-3 MIAC).
Hamline finishes the season next weekend with a home and home series against St. Thomas.
