Box Score It was efficient and solid from the start. Hamline's women's basketball team made it five wins in a row -- the longest winning streak by a Piper team in 27 years -- with an impressive 66-43 win over St. Catherine at Butler Center Monday night.

It is the longest streak since February 1986 when the Pipers set the school record with seven straight wins as part of a 18-7 season.

HU is now 11-7 in the MIAC and 11-10 overall. More importantly, they remained just a game out of fifth place and strengthened their hold on sixth place -- the final playoff spot -- by two games over St. Olaf with four to play. The Oles (9-9) visit Hutton Arena on Wednesday, February 6 for a 7:30 p.m. affair.

Cassidy Vogt (pictured with ball) had a season high 20 points to lead the Piper offense agaist SCU. Steph Pilgrim added 18 points with Jordan Sammons scoring 10 with a game high eight rebounds.

Vogt was on target in the first half, scoring 17 points as HU raced to a 35-21 halftime lead. HU didn't let up in the second session, either, forcing the Wildcats into 21 turnovers. (Je'Naya Brown had five steals to move into fifth place all-time in HU history with 177.)

Hamline stretched its lead to as many as 28 points in the second half. Two days after setting a school record with 14 three-pointers, HU connected on 12 more Monday.

Wednesday's St. Olaf game is the first of three straight at Hutton. Concordia is here Saturday, Feb. 9 and Bethel finishes off the troika of games on Wednesday, Feb. 13.
