Men's Hockey Wraps Up Season At Concordia

2/8/2013 11:01:00 AM

It's a role they hope they never have to see again. But the HU men's hockey team takes to the road this weekend in a spoiler mode. The Pipers (1-17-5 overall, 1-10-3 MIAC) head to Moorhead this weekend to wrap up the season with a pair of games against a Concordia team that is currently part of a three-way tie for the final playoff spot.

These teams know a bit about each other already. On October 28, they battled each other to a lively 5-5 tie in Blaine as part of the conference's season-opening tournament. Chris Hoffman scored twice as HU rallied from an 2-0 first period hole to take a third period lead. But the Cobbers tied the game in the final minute. The overtime was wide open (Hamline had five shots on goal and CC had four) but the game ended stuck at 5.

The teams meet at the Moorhead Sports Center Friday night at 7:00 p.m. and have a rematch Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

It's the final games for seniors Dominic Chiapelli and Kirk Olimb
