A Warrior Bows Out

Box Score Je'Naya Brown ended her Hamline career the way she started it -- always around the ball.

the senior recorded a pair of steals to move into second all-time in school history and became just the eighth player ever to record 200 assists in Hamline's season-endsing 86-64 loss to Concordia Saturday at Hutton Arena.

Chelsey Bonsante scored a gamehigh 20 points and Jordan Sammons had her 15th double-double of the season for Hamline, which fknished 7-18 overall, 6-16 in the MIAC.

The Cobbers, who clinched a first round playoff bye with the win, used a huge rebounding edge to vault to a 39-24 halftime lead. CC pressed its way to a 28 point edge in the second half. Bonsante, who scored 18 second half markers, triggered a HU response that cut the lead to 18 at one point. The freshman finished second on the team in scoring this year with a 11.9 point per game average.

Sammons scored 16 points and grabbed a game high 11 rebounds. She finishes the season leading the MIAC in Points (533), Points per game (21.3), Steals (78) and Steals Per Game (3.1). The junior guard, is one of just two players in the country to complete this unusual leadership pairing. She is also second inthe loop in Rebounds (9.7). 

Rachel Usgaard also had 13 points for Hamline in the season finale before an excited crowd. 

Brown and senior student manager Jamie Kruse were honored before the game. On the floor, the Texan scored eight points and had a pair of assists to finish exactly at 200. She also claimed second place by herself in the thefts department with 218.
