The young Piper women's tennis team got an idea of what it takes to make the playoffs Saturday. St. Olaf, needing a win to ensure participation in the postseason, overran HU, 9-0, in the final game of the regular season for both teams.
Emily Wollmuth (pictured) had the best day at singles for the Pipers at No. 5 singles. She lost the first set by a 3-6 count and then dropped the next one, 0-6. The doubles tandem of
Cassie Rammage and
Maggie Gibson made things interesting at No. 2 doubles before succumbing, 5-8.
Hamline finished the season with a 6-15 overall mark, the most wins by a Piper women's net team in seven years.
