Box Score A rough second period blew a tight game apart and Hamline's women's hockey team lost  7-1 at St. Thomas Friday.Â
The first priod was fairly even with UST holding a slim 7-6 edge in shots on goal and a 2-0 lead on the scoreboard. In the middle session, however, the Tommies made it 3-0 before
Jordan Verleye replied for Hamline at 4:20. UST then scored three goals in a span of 85 seconds midway in the period to stretch the lead to 6-1 and go on to the win.Â

Nina Chase led Hamline's 18 shot attack with three shots on goal each.  The Pipers fell to 3-11-2 overall, 1-6-2 in the MIAC.
The same teams meet again Saturday at Oscar Johnson Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
