Box Score Mary Shefveland  kicked out 29 shots in goal for Hamline's women's hockey team in a 3-1 loss to Concordia Friday at Oscar Johnson Arena. The junior was superb all night, particularly in the first period when the Cobbers flew hard and fired 13 shots on goal, scoring once.Â
The Pipers fought back to tie the game in the middle frame when junior forward Mackenzie McCormack (25) fired a shot through a maze past CC goalie Madison Denny at 7:22. HU carried the play for much of the rest of the period but it was the Cobbers who found the net, connecting on a power play with just 1:08 remaining.
Hamline had a power play opportunity in the third period but couldn't get the equalizer. CC found the empty net with 61 seconds left to seal the verdict. Hamline is now 3-13-2 overall, 1-8-2 in the MIAC.Â
The same two teams will face each other Saturday at Oscar Johnson. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
