Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Having four players in double digits for kills is unusual in volleyball these days. Having them all within two of each other is even more unique.

But such was the case Saturday as Michelle Mattke (pictured) and Jena Meyer recorded 13 hits and Beth Goodman and Julia Zolnosky delivered 11 each in Hamline's 3-1 win over Simpson that earned them a split in one day tournament held in St. Peter, Minn. Mattke, who added 17 assists for a double-double, did not commit an error and hit .393 as as the Pipers won an exhausting four setter, 29-27, 25-27, 26-24, 25-19. That improved Hamline's overall record to 10-12 on the season.

Amelia Jensen recorded her ninth double-double of the season, contributing 44 assists and adding 14 digs. (The latter was part of a season 101 digs the Pipers delivered. Micki Green led with 22 with Zolnosky finishing off a double-double of her own with 21 and Jamie Rubbelke supplying 20.)  The rollicking match had 33 ties and 15 lead changes before HU pulled away at the end.

Earlier in the day, the Pipers dropped a closer-than-the-final score looked 3-0 decision to Loras. The tumultous first set alone had 19 tie scores and 11 lead changes before HU fell by 26-28. The second one was tight as well, a 23-25 setback. Hamline was never able to grab the lead in the third set, losing 16-25. Zolnosky (11 Kills), Jensen (33 assists) and Green (19 digs) were the individual leaders.
