11/20/2015 9:36:00 PM

Box Score One way to keep an unbeaten streak going to strike early. The Hamline women's hockey team did just that Friday, scoring two goals 13 seconds apart in the first 74 seconds of play. HU kept up the pressure all night, defeating St. Benedict, 5-1, at Oscar Johnson Arena to stretch their current streak to three games in a row.

Chelsea Koehn had a goal and an assist. Brede Postier, Britni DelCastillo, Jena Kosley and Dana Almquist also scored as HU improved to 2-0-1 in the MIAC, 2-2-2 overall.

Postier, who had five points last weekend against St. Olaf, got things off to a quick start, taking Jenny Magill's pass and sweeping it into the net 61 seconds into the game. DelCastillo followed that up with a quick shot 13 seconds later.

Koehn (27) pushed it to 3-0 when she broke free for a shorthanded goal 2:22 into the second period. The Blazers scored midway in the period to make it 3-1 but that was close as they could get.

Hamline put the game away in the third period as Kosley and Almquist each recorded their first collegiate goals five minutes apart. HU fired a season high 40 shots on goal, led by Koehn and Postier with seven each.

Jessica Cole had another solid game in goal, recording 28 saves to gain the win.

Hamline faces the Blazers again on Saturday in St. Cloud. Game time at the Municipal Athletics Complex is 3:00 p.m.
