Box Score The Hamline women's hockey team discovered what the Wisconsin league already knew -- the UW-River Falls deserve their national rankings. The Pipers lost to the Falcons, 8-0, Friday in their home opener at Oscar Johnson Arena.

The Falcons were very sharp on the power play, scoring three times as part of a five-goal second period that broke the game open. Jena Kosley led Hamine's 23 shot offensive output with six shots on goal. Jessica Goldberg and Dana Almquist added three each. Mary Shefveland had 17 saves in 30:08 of playing time. Molly Dionne made her college debut for the last 29:52 of the game, recording 16 saves.

HU, 0-2-1 on the season, now focuses on MIAC play. They open against St. Olaf on Friday, November 13 at Oscar Johnson Arena. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
