Box Score The fifth quarter definitely is no friend to the Hamline women's basketball team. The Pipers dropped their second extra session game fo the year Wednesday, 71-70, at Macalester. Regan Fruh's three point play with one second remaining ruined the night for Hamline, who led for much of the  night.

Chelsey Bonsante led the Piper offense with 16 points while Emily Behrman (pictured) was close behind with 15. Chloe Graves added 11 and snared a game high nine rebounds for Hamline, which fell to 1-5, 0-1 in the MIAC.

Hamline led by as many as eight points in the first half but a late Scot rally cut the margin to 30-29 at intermission. The third quarter went back and forth and ended with HU still holding that slim margin at 47-46.

Graves hit a pair of free throws with 16 seconds left in regulation to give Hamline a 60-58 but Macalester's Leah Gray hit a jumper with four seconds left to force overtime. Bonsante looked like she had the hero's role when she boomed a three-pointer for a 70-68 lead. But Fruh came back to score and hit the extra toss to end the game in the conference opener for both teams.

The Pipers will look to get even in the MIAC when they visit St. Catherine Saturday. Game time at Butler Center is 3:00 p.m.
