Box Score With the game on the line, Hamline's women's basketball team turned to a top gun to pull them through.

And the top gun did just that.

Chelsey Bonsante (pictured) scored a game high 17 points -- including three key three-pointers down the stretch as Hamline rallied for a 63-57 win over St. Catherine at Butler Center Saturday. Alex Peterson has her second double digit scoring game this week with 15  and Alison Bartak had a game high 12 rebounds as HU evened its MIAC mark at 1-1 and improved to 2-5 overall.

It was game of streaks. The Pipers had their early and late with the Wildcats doing their handiwork in the third quarter.

The combination of Peterson getting 11 points and some rugged defense  (SCU was held to two baskets in a seven-minute span) led to Hamline grabbing a 30-21 lead at halftime.

The Wildcats turned things around with a 22-11 run in the third quarter and led 43-41 with 10 minutes left. They scored the first eight points of the fourth quarter to make it 51-41 only to see the Pipers come alive in a hurry.

HU scored 13 unanswered points -- the last six of which were treys from Bonsante -- to grab a 54-51 edge. SCU broke the string with a free throw but Bonsante came back with a three-pointer and Chloe Graves added a basket and the tide had turned for the last time. For the game, the Pipers held SCU to just 32 per cent shooting from the field.

Hamline returns to action Wednesday at St. Benedict in a 7:00 p.m. game. They finally get back to Hutton Arena on Saturday, December 12 against St. Olaf. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
