In their final tune up before the MIAC Cross Country meet October 29, Hamline's men's team placed 10th in a very competitive 20 team field at the Jim Drews Invitational, October 15. The race was held at the Ettrick Golf Club in Ettrick, Wis. Wis-La Crosse was the host school for the event.
James Logan led the way for Hamline. The La Crosse, Wis. native, a senior, was 26th in the 300-runner field, covering the 8,000 meters in 26:30.
Fernando Benitez, a freshman, (pictured) placed 45th in 27:03. He was followed by another freshman --
Sam Bell, was 77th in 27:43. Sophomores
Anthony Paladie (88th, 27:57) and
Tony Duchenes (94th, 28:06) rounded out the HU scorers. Hamline's total of 320 points was better than five of the nine MIAC schools that competed in the race.
The 10th place finish was three better than HU did last year at this meet.
