4/20/2016 9:35:00 PM

Box Score The Hamline lacrosse team made sure Wartburg never got comfortable Wednesday night at Klas Field. The Piper scored three times in the first 4:11 of play and never looked back for a 14-4 victory over the Knights. Dana Almquist scored six times and Maddie Brown returned to the field to score four times as Hamline improved to 7-6 in their first year as a varsity program. The Pipers also remained unbeaten in their home lair, improving to 3-0 on the season.

Brown sat out the previous game with an injury. The well-rested freshman wasted no time going to work, scoring just 11 seconds into the game. Lexus Tatge made it 2-0 and Brown upped the lead to three before most people were settled in their seats. After the Knights got on the board, Almquist netted four and Brown added a pair before intermission. The pair are tied for the team lead in points with 46.

Molly Dionne was kept busy in the HU goal, recording 10 saves -- her fourth double digit performance of the season. In the process, she dropped her goals-against average under nine a game at 8.92.

Hamline has a pair of home games this season. They face Aurora Saturday at Klas Field at 2:00 p.m. Carroll College visits Sunday for a noon start.
