Box Score For some time, it has been clear that Hamline senior women's basketball guard
Chloe Graves is more than accustomed to the pace of the game. It also became clear early in the season that sophomore Alana Quaranta had a good handle on it as well. As the season has worn on, a third prong on the offensive attack is becoming clearer as well: freshman forward
Reilly Geistfeld. The St. James, Minn. native scored 13 points (as did Quaranta) to back up Graves' 14 markers in the Pipers' 74-51 loss to Bethel in Arden Hills Saturday.
In addition to her sixth double digit scoring effort of the season, the 5-10 Geistfeld led the Piper rebounders as well with boards with Graves and Quaranta adding four each. Graves also added to her school career record for assists with a game high six. She now has 328 for her career.
HU hung tough early with the Royals, who are in the third place in the MIAC with an 8-2 mark. The Pipers trailed just 17-12 after the first 10 minutes but saw the lead balloon to 36-23 by halftime.
Hamline is now 5-12 overall, 2-8 in the MIAC. The Pipers will look to home cooking for an edge in the final month of the season. Hamline's next three games are at Hutton Arena, starting with Augsburg on Wednesday, January 25. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
