11/4/2017 5:13:00 PM

Box Score On Senior Day at Klas Field, Brendan Nachtrieb gave his family and friends a going away present. The running back dashed in for a second quarter touchdown for Hamline in a 72-6 loss to St. John's Saturday. The Metamore, Illinois native rushed for 40 yards for HU, which fell to 2-7 overall, 1-6 in the MIAC.

Nachtrieb's score came in the first minute of the second quarter after HU completed a 56-yard scoring drive that consumed seven plays. Unfortunately, the extra point attempted failed. SJU (8-1) is still in the running for a NCAA D-III postseason spot. They erupted for 30 second quarter points and added 28 more in the third stanza to put the game out of reach.

On the defensive side of the ball, Luke Trudell and Noah Jacobson each recorded a dozen tackles with Dalton Pakkala adding nine. Trudell, a junior, is now fourth in the league at 8.7 tackles per game. Mitchell Maday recorded a sack to his league leading total of nine.

Hamline wraps up the 2017 season Saturday, November 11 at Bethel (4-5, 4-3 MIAC). Game time is 1:00 p.m.
