There's no place -- even when you are not the home team -- for the HU Men's Track/Field team.
Hamline's 4 x 400 Meter relay team of
Jordan Grier (pictured),
Thane Widmer,
Sam Gatton and
Isaac Krause sped to victory in a time of 3:25.47 in the Tommie Twilight meet Thursday. The event was held at Klas Field because the track at St. Thomas -- the host school -- was unavailable.
The Pipers' 4 x 100 quartet of Grier, Widmer,
Nathan Huss and
Jordan Lein also ran well, finishing second in 43.11 seconds. Widmer was also eighth in the 100 Meters (11.08) and Krause claimed ninth place in the 400 (50.47).
Rex Gould ran fifth in the 110 Hurdles (15.87).
In the field,
Travis Jacobson led a trio of Pipers in the Shot Put, placing second with a 53-9 throw.
Chase Duwenhoegger was fourth (51-0.75) and
Eric Dols was sixth (49-11). Jacobson was sixth in the Hammer (170-05), one slot ahead of Dols (164-11).
Anthony Tyler threw fourth in the Discus (151-10) and
Kam Manthe placed ninth in the Javelin (126-04).
The meet was unscored.
