Box Score The HU lacrosse team went out the way they came into Klas Field at the start of the season -- still perfect at home.

The Pipers jumped on Southwestern (TX) early and never let up, defeating the Pirates 18-7 Sunday in their final Klas Field game of 2017. The Pipers are now 14-0 in two seasons playing on their own sod. Dana Almquist and Dani Perry scored five goals each as HU improved to 12-3 overall with the win. Almquist now has 56 goals this season, one more than they recorded last year.Lexus Tatge (1), Brayden Maass and Alycia Monserrate Novotny added two goals apiece with Radian Lenz and Lindsey Jackman recording singles.

In addition, Molly Dionne set a school record with 20 saves in goal.

The Pirates (8-8) defeated the Pipers, 14-7 last year in Texas. HU made amends for that by scoring the first seven goals of the game. Almquist had her handful by the end of the first half, which saw HU hold a 10-2 advantage. The Pirates got within seven at 13-6 midway in the second half but Tatge and Perry each netted a pair to keep the visitors at bay.

Hamline stands in third place in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference with an 8-2 won-loss mark. They are locked into the number two seed for the conference tournament, which will be held May 5-6 at Concordia  (WI). Hamlin will face either Augsburg or Aurora at 4:00 p.m. The Pipers play at Monmouth next Saturday in their final conference affair and finish the season on Sunday, April 30 with a non-conference game at Augustana (Ill.).
