Pipers Roll Over Monmouth, 19-2

Box Score It turned out to be well worth the wait. Hamline's lacrosse team had to wait several hours for thunderstorms to exit Illinois so they could play Monmouth in their  Midwest Lacrosse Women's Conference finale. 

After a quick goal against them, they were glad they did. Dana Almquist scored four times with Dani Perry and Radian Lenz adding three each as the Pipers overwhelmed Monmouth, 19-2, Saturday. The Pipers improved to 13-3 overall (9-2 MWLC) with the second most lopsided win in the team's two year history. 

After a three hours plus delay due to bad weather, the Fighting Scots struck the first blow eight minutes into the game, Almquist evened things at 12:50 and Brayden Maass unevened the score 26 seconds later. Hamline kept on scoring, nailing 11 goals before halftime to finish with a 12-1 edge, In the second half, Hu picked upm where they left off, scoring seven more goals before Monmouth recorded the final tally of the game. 

In addition to Almquist, Perry and Lenz, HU got goals from Lindsey Jackman (2), Sydney Dynneson (2), Brayden Maass (2), Lexus Tatge (2) and Alycia Monserrate Novotny (1). Molly Dionne registered four saves and Katie Butler had three in the HU goal.

Hamline, which is locked into the second seed and will face Aurora in next weekend's MWLC semifinal in Mequon, Wis, plays at Augustana (Ill.)  in a non-conference finale Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
