Almquist First Piper Lacrosse Player To Hit Century Mark

Box Score Dana Almquist notched another spot in the Hamline lacrosse record book. The junior attacker scored three first half goals for the Pipers, who dropped a 15-8 decision at Concordia (WI) Saturday. Radian Lenz added two goals for HU, which saw its school record six-game winning streak come to an end. The Pipers are now 9-3 overall, 6-2 in  the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference. 

After allowing the first two goals, the Pipers roared back to take the lead as Almquist (19) scored twice and Lenz once  in a span of 4:06 for a 3-2 edge.

The rest of the half rocked back and forth. The Falcons scored three straight goals for a 5-3 advantage. Kalley Elwell, Lenz and Almquist responded in kind for Hamline, which regained the lead at 6-5. However, Concordia finished out the first half with three goals for an 8-6 lead at the break. 

In the second half,  Dani Perry struck first to moved HU back within a goal at 8-7 only to see the homestanding Falcons score four in a row and take charge of the game. Sydney Dynneson had the last Piper netter. Molly Dionne recorded 11 saves in goal. 

Almquist's three goals gave her 42 for the season, tops on the team and second in the conference. Adding in her 53 goals and six assists from last season and the Hugo, Minn. native now has 101 points for her Piper career. 

The Pipers now get a break in their schedule. Their next game is Tuesday, April 18 at Augsburg. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
