Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Jersey Switch Can't Slow Down Kinsinger

No matter what number he wears, Ben Sorenson for the Hamline men's soccer team. The Pipers' new jerseys arrived shortly before the team took to Paterson Field to face Bethel Wednesday afternoon. Kinsinger's No. 16 proved a little too small for him so he switched with Ben Sorenson's No. 19.

No matter. The senior moved into a tie for the team lead in goals with his fifth of the season on a feed from Jack Reddan in Hamline's 3-1 loss to the Royals. The goal came late in the first half to offset an early Bethel tally. Unfortunately, the Royals scored twice to take the verdict and drop Hamline to 5-4-1 overall, 2-3-1 in MIAC play. Adam King led Hamline's 13 shot assault with four while Ryan Pyle added three.

Malachy Zamacona started in goal for Hamline, recording four saves before giving way to Dean Isaacson in the late going.

Hamline now heads on the road for the next two games -- October 13 at St. Mary's (3:30 p.m.) and a makeup affair at Carleton on October 17 (4:00 p.m.).
