Madison Hurrle had 12 kills but St. Catherine used a .339 kill percentage to defeat the Piper volleyballers, 3-0, in the home finale at Hutton Arena Saturday.
Megan Rubbelke had 29 assists, 10 digs and six services aces.
Morgen Coleman and
Erin Tadych did one better with 11 digs apiece. Hurrle, the team leader in kills with 241, had a .333 attack percentage for the day.
The Wildcats, however, took a tense first set, 27-25. They won the middle encounter by a 25-9 count and held off a HU charge for a 25-21 win to complete the sweep. Hamline is now 11-12 overall, 1-8 in MIAC play.
The Pipers wrap up the 2018 season with two road battles next week -- at St. Thomas (Oct. 24, 7:00 p.m.) and at Macalester (Oct. 27, 1:00 p.m.)
