Gabby Robinson had nine digs and 10 kills to lead Hamline in a closer-than -the-final-score looked 3-0 volleyball setback at St. Thomas Wednesday night. The freshman (4) reached double digits in digs for the 10th time for the Pipers, who stand 11-13 overall (1-9 MIAC). Robinson became the second Piper this year to pass the 200 dig mark for the season.
In the opening set, the Pipers snapped back from a 14-11 to grab the lead at 15-14. UST went back ahead but HU rallied to tie matters at 22 before giving way by 25-23. The second set saw the score tied on 10 different occasions before the Tommies pulled away for a 25-20 win. In the third set, HU started slowly but came to life in the middle of the set, cutting a 11-point deficit to seven before falling 25-11.
In addition to Robinson,
Morgen Coleman had eight kills and
Sydney Larson added seven.
Megan Rubbelke had 30 assists and nine digs. The sophomore passed the 700 mark for the season with 702.
Hamline wraps up the 2018 season Saturday, October 27 at Macalester. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
