Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Slow Start Stalls W Soccer vs. Auggies

A bad early break snowballed into a slow start and was too much for the HU women's soccer team to overcome Saturday against Augsburg at Paterson. Three first half goals dug a hole in a 4-0 loss to the Auggies.

It started with a deflection off a Hamline leg that resulted in an Augsburg goal seven minutes into the game. The HU offense had trouble getting track, finishing with five shots. Ellie Baxter led the way with two with Jensen Sevening, Kaelin O'Fallon and Jenna Sampson providing singles. O'Fallon came the closest to scoring when her shot from a sharp angle bounced off the goalpost. The Pipers did draw even with the Auggies in corner kicks at four apiece.

Dani Wright added to her league leading total of saved with 14 to up the count to 85 for the season.

Hamline stays home Tuesday, October 9 to face Bethel. Game time at Paterson Field is 4:00 p.m.
