Connor Knutson scored eight points in a three-minute span to break open a tight game and Hamline's men's basketball team went on to defeat North Central, 80-53, Tuesday at Hutton Arena. Knutson finished with 26 points in just 28 minutes of playing time as the Pipers evened their 2018-19 record at 2-2. The senior hit five three-pointers on the night.
Jake Larson continued his long distance barrage as well with three treys as part of 13 point night.
Isaac Brooks added nine with a game high seven rebounds and six assists.
The Pipers trailed 9-7 midway in the first half when Larson unloaded a long one to give HU a lead they never lost. Knutson followed with two treys and a basket and HU suddenly had a 19-12 lead. The Pipers stayed in control from there, leading 33-24 at intermission. Knutson had 15 points.Â
The senior came out aggressive at the start of the second half with two quick baskets and a steal to push the Pipers into a double digit lead that expanded to as high as 30 at one point. HU shot 60 percent from the field in the second stanza. Head coach

Addison Ostendorf, who played just three minutes came up with seven points.
