Lacrosse Ties School Record For Consecutive Wins

Box Score It was a big win for several reasons. Hamline's 14-11 women's lacrosse victory over Augsburg achieved the following:
  • The Pipers improved to 7-0 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference.
  • The team won its sixth straight game, tying a school record
  • It was the third straight year they had defeated their cross river rivals
  • Ran their perfect record at Klas Field to 18-0 all-time
  • And it was a successful return to the field for Dana Almquist, who missed nine games with a foot injury
Hamline grabbed command of the game early. Sydney Dynneson scored her first of a game high four goals just 2:02 into the game. After the Auggies tied the game, HU went on a 4-0 run to take firm control of the game. Almquist, who scored a school record 71 goals last season, had two of her four for the night in this outburst. HU eventually expanded the lead to 9-4 before going into halftime with a 10-6 advantage.

The Auggies came out hard in the second half and scored twice to make it 10-8. it stayed that way for 11 minutes before Almquist picked up where she left off in the first half with two more goals. The lead eventually went back to five and HU kept the foot on the throttle the rest of the way to improve the overall record to 8-4. In addition to Dynneson and Almquist's exploits, Brayden Maass and Tara Dalman scored twice with Lexus Tatge and Maya Hernandez adding singles. 

Molly Dionne had three saves in goal for the Pipers, who ran up six straight in the 2017 season. 

HU plays its next three games on the road, starting with a date at Wartburg on Saturday, April 14. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
