4/19/2018 9:24:00 PM

Box Score It was well worth the wait to go to Wartburg for the HU lacrosse team. The Pipers made it a school record seven wins in a row with a 17-5 romp over the Knights Thursday in Waverly, Iowa. Lexus Tatge had a big game with four goals and two assists and Alycia Monserrate Novotny added three as HU inched one step closer to the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference regular season championship. HU, which won a school record seventh straight game, is 9-4 overall and in first pace with an 8-0 MWLC mark.

The Pipers blitzed Wartburg early to take a 13-3 halftime lead and go from there for the win. It took 5:20 to break the ice with Dana Almquist scoring her first of two goals to get HU going. After 11 minutes of play, Hamline held a 2-1 advantage. In the next 10 minutes, the Pipers would outscore the Knights by 7-1 for a 10-2 edge and there was little question where the game was headed from there,

In addition to Tatge and Monserrate Novotny's offensive prowess, Almquist, Maya Hernandez and Brayden Maass each scored twice with Radian Lenz, Maddie Brown, Tara Dalman and Dani Perry adding singles.

Molly Dionne played the first 51:21, allowing three goals while recording five saves to gain the win in goal. Hamline stays on the road this weekend with games at Aurora (Saturday, April 21, 2:00 p.m.) and Benedictine (Sunday, April 22, 12:00 p.m.).
