Wright Comes Up Big For WSOC To Hold Off Regals

She was in the right place at the right time all day. Dani Wright (pictured) stood tall all day for the HU women's soccer team, recording 15 saves as the Pipers battled No. 19 Cal Lutheran to a 0-0 2 OT tie in their home opener at Paterson Field Sunday. The junior was particularly busy in the second half, making seven stops. She made six more in the two extra sessions for HU, which now stands 0-1-1 on the season. The Pipers took three shots of their own with Ciara Gregory and Jensen Sevening forcing CLU goalies to make saves.

It is a busy week opening week of the season for Hamline.

The Pipers travel to Minn-Morris on Tuesday, September 4 for a 2:30 p.m. On Thursday, Sept. 6, they are in Roseville to take on Northwestern in a 7:00 p.m. affair. They will be back at Paterson on Saturday, Sept. 6 to welcome Wisconsin-River Falls at 1:00 p.m.
