It is likely to be a happy bus ride home for the HU men's soccer team.
Adam King's second half goal was all the Pipers needed for a 1-0 win at Concordia Saturday. The win upped the Pipers' overall record to 4-2 and evened their MIAC mark at 1-1.
Rated in the United Soccer Coaches North poll for the second week in a row (at #8 this week), the Pipers kept the Cobbers at bay all afternoon. King's unassisted effort at 57:38 was his team leading fifth of the season and 17th of his three-year career. The latter number places him in fourth place all-time among HU's men's players. The Californian had four of Hamline's six shots for the afternoon. His five goals and 13 points are tied for the MIAC league lead in both departments.
At the other end of the field,
Dean Isaacson fashioned his second shutout of the season and 15th of his career. The senior lowered his goals-against average to 0.87 for the 2018 season. His four wins leads all MIAC goaltenders.
Hamline returns to the friendly turf of Paterson Field on Tuesday, September 25 against St. Thomas (5-5-1 overall, 1-0-1 MIAC). Game time is 4:00 p.m.
