Zero is the ultimate number for a soccer team ... at least when it comes to defense. The Hamline women's team posted its third straight shutout, blanking Northwestern, 2-0, in Roseville Thursday night.
Ciara Gregory scored both goals -- one in each half -- to give goalie
Dani Wright all the offense required as the Pipers improved to 2-1-1 overall.
HU has not allowed a goal in the last 316:32 of action.Â
Gregory converted a feed from
Ali Eastman for a goal 28 minutes into the game. The Cottage Grove, Minn. native tallied her second of the night (and a league-leading fourth of the season on a set up from
Kaelin O'Fallon) with less than nine minutes remaining to seal the deal.Â
Wright, who made nine saves to lower her GAA to 0.50, did the rest for HU. The junior leads the MIACÂ with 28 saves.Â
Hamline hosts Wis-River Falls at Paterson Field Saturday, September 8. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
