Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Sevening, Olson Connect For W Soccer Against Falcons

Welcome back, Jensen Sevening. Keep up the good work, Ashlee Olson. The pair provided the offense for the Pipers' women's soccer team Saturday in a 3-2 OT loss to Wis-River Falls at Paterson Field.

Sevening (5) played every game as a freshman and a sophomore but sat out last season. The senior showed a deft touch when her corner kick found the corner of the net to give HU a 1-0 lead shortly before halftime.

Tne Falcons responded with two goals five minutes apart early in the second half to take a 2-1 but Olson evened matters with her third tally of the season at 79:05 on a feed from Kaelin O'Fallon. The sophomore was an offensive presence all day, taking seven of the 17 total shots HU unleashed on the Falcons.

Unfortunately, UWRF scored in the final minute of the first extra session to drop HU to 2-2-1 on the season.

Goalie Dani Wright had seven saves for the Pipers, five in the first half alone.

Hamline now turns its sights to MIAC play. First up: Macalester on September 11 at Paterson Field. Game time is 4:00 p.m.
