Bernadette Hayden and
Helen Dolan showed they were, indeed, ready for the start of the 2018 women's cross country Hayden, a junior, clocked in 19:34.8 to finish in 10th place in a 105 runner at the Luther All-American Invitational in Decorah, Iowa Saturday. Dolan, a sophomore, was close behind, coming in 12th in 19:47.6.
Alexandra Maddux, a freshman, placed 33rd in 21:12.9. The next two scorers for HU were also freshmen in their first college race --
Emma Mader (63rd, 22:22.0) and
Emily Kathman (23:15.9).
As a team, Hamline totaled 126 points to finish in fifth place in an eight team field.
The Pipers return to the course on September 15 when they run in a meet hosted by Augsburg College.
