Madison Hurrle is easy to spot on a volleyball court. Friday, against St. Scholastica, she also was a factor to behold. The junior (13) had a game high 12 kills with no errors for a lofty .429 kill percentage for the Pipers in a 3-0 setback to St. Scholastica at Hutton Arena that was much closer than the final score would indicate.
There were 28 tie scores and 14 lead changes before the Saints were able to inch away and earn 25-22, 25-23 and 25-22 set decisions.
Sydney Larson added nine kills with
Morgen Coleman chipping in eight for HU. Coleman added four service aces to up her school record to 160 and a had a team high 24 digs. The senior is second in the conference at 0.54 service aces per set.
Maggie Gavic was also busy with 19 digs, several of them on spectacular dives.
Megan Rubbelke had another big two way game with 36 assists and 13 digs. The junior is fifth in the loop with 685 helpers and an average of 10.07 assists per set.
Hamline is 11-8 overall. The Pipers get back into the MIAC fray on Wednesday, October 16 at St. Benedict.
