The Hamline volleyball team dropped a tight five setter to No. 12 ranked St. Benedict in St. Joseph, Minn. Wednesday night. HU won the first and third sets over the Bennies by 25-22 margins. CSB took the second set, 25-12, and rallied to win a fourth set by a mere 26-24 before taking the finale, 15-6.
Madison Hurrle (14 kills) and
Sydney Larson (10) led the offensive attack HU .
Megan Rubbelke passed the 1800 mark for career assists with 37 and added 16 digs for her fourth consecutive double-double and 12th overall of the season.
Morgen Coleman and
Gabby Robinson topped the back wall brigade with 20 digs apiece.
Maggie Gavic added 17 and
Karly Bihner contributed 11.Â
Hurrle had a hand in five blocks as part of a 12 block night.
Hamline is now 11-9 overall, 2-4 MIAC. They will face Finlandia and Wis-River Falls on Saturday, October 19 as part of a triangular at Hutton Arena. HU will face the Lions at 2:30 p.m. and take on the Falcons at 4:00 p.m.
