Neither rain nor wind nor a chill in the air could keep Hamline women's soccer attacker
Ashlee Olson off the score sheet. The junior scored her team high fifth goal of the season Wednesday in the Pipers' 2-1 loss to Carleton at Paterson Field. Olson's goal at 26:33. a rocket blast from the left side, cut an early 2-0 Knight lead in half.
That was as close as the Pipers could get, though, as their overall record fell to 4-6-0, 1-4-0 in the MIAC.
Lauren Sicora's first home start was a busy one. The sophomore recorded 20 saves, the most by a Piper netminder in 16 years and the second most in the conference this season. She was particularly busy in the second half, stopping 15 Carleton attempts.
Hamline took a total of eight shots with
Siri Parker leading the way with three.
The Pipers will look to get back in the winning way on Sunday, October 6 when they trek to Moorhead to face Concordia (7-4, 0-4 MIAC). Game time is 3:30 p.m.
