Hamline's women's soccer team gave it their best shot on Senior Day -- 13 of them in all. But SMU goalie Gabriella Pederson stayed resolute and the Cardinals managed a tally out of a scramble to eke out a 1-0 decision Saturday at Paterson Field. 

Ciara Gregory, one of seven seniors honored in a pre-game ceremony, unleashed four attempts and Grace Trocinske added three. HU also had a 7-4 edge in corner kicks. But it just didn't work out and the Pipers dropped to 5-10-0 overall, 1-8-0 in MIAC play. Melanie Hopkins played the game in goal, recording one save. 

In addition to Gregory, Hamline honored Gaby Diaz, Ali Eastman, Siri Parker, Jenna Sampson, Brooke Shirley, Jackie Stubbs and their families as part of the pre-game festivities. 

The sevensome will be back at Paterson Field one last time to take on Gustavus Adolphus on Wednesday, October 30. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
