WAVERLY, Iowa – Junior
Helen Dolan led the Hamline women's cross country team at the NCAA Central Region meet today, placing 10
th in a field of over 200 runners. As a team, Hamline finished in 17
th of 30 teams, with a score of 458.
Dolan finished the 6k course in 22:54.1, being the fifth MIAC runner to cross the line. With the 10
th-place finish, Dolan earns All-Region Honors and will have a chance to compete at the NCAA Championship meet next weekend in Louisville, Kentucky.
Sophomore
Alexandra Maddux was second in for the Pipers, finishing in 24:47.8, which was good for 75
th place.
The final three HU runners to finish were only seconds apart. First year
Emily Danzl finished with a time of 25:56.2 to take 123
rd with teammates
Emma Mader and
Miranda Ekleberry close behind, finishing in 25:58.9 and 25:59.4, respectively. Mader's time put her in 126
th and Ekleberry finished 127
th.
Carleton won the regional with 57 points, having two of the top-five finishers. Wartburg was close behind the Knights, finishing second with a score of 59. Kassie Rosenbum of Loras was the top-finisher at the meet, finishing in 22:00.0.
