Game Recap: Men's Ice Hockey |

Hamline falls short in 3-2 loss to Concordia

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. – The Hamline men's hockey team (1-5-1, 0-2 MIAC) took on Concordia Moorhead (2-5, 0-2 MIAC) in a midweek non-conference game, falling to the Cobbers 3-2 in St. Michael. The Pipers tied the game at 1-1 in the first period, but Concordia scored two in the second, which ended up being the difference.

The Cobbers were the first to score in the game, getting a goal four minutes into the contest. A little over five minutes later, HU answered with a goal of their own as junior Zak Lambrecht took a pass from Brandon Bissett and Sam Dabrowski and found the back of the net to tie the game at one apiece. The goal was Lambrecht's second of the season.

In the second period, Concordia got an early goal and also a goal with only eight seconds left to bring a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.

It remained a two-goal game for the majority of the third period. With a little under two minutes left in the game, Hamline pulled its goalie which paid off at 19:05 when sophomore Weiland Parrish scored for the Pipers, making it 3-2. He was assisted by Jake Cass and Bailey Martin on the play and now has six total points on the season.

Hamline was only able to get one more shot off in the game which was saved, allowing the Cobbers to take home the 3-2 win.

Junior Evan Robert tallied a season-high 29 saves on the night, but would take the loss, moving to 0-3 so far this season.

The Pipers return to MIAC play this weekend, when they will take on St. Olaf. HU will first travel to Northfield for their Friday night game before hosting the Oles on Saturday. Both contests are scheduled for 7:00 p.m. starts.
