Dolan earns Elite 22 recognition

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Days after becoming the third Hamline women's cross country All-American in school history, junior Helen Dolan has also been recognized by the MIAC as an Elite 22 winner.

The MIAC Elite 22 Award recognizes the true essence of the term "student-athlete" by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the conference championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers. It is presented to the student-athlete with the highest grade-point average (GPA) in each sport who meets similarly high, sport-specific requirements.

Dolan has maintained a 3.96 GPA as a Studio Arts major during her time at Hamline, while also finishing within the top-10 in her past two appearances at the MIAC Championship meet.

At the Central Region meet this year, Dolan placed 10th to be named All-Region in addition to earning the opportunity to run on the national stage. On November 23, Dolan placed 37th at the NCAA Championship meet in Louisville, Ky., becoming HU's first All-American in women's cross country since 2009.
