BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) recently released its 2019 football awards, with Hamline's
Triston Thomas,
Tanner Lunceford,
Monty Stenroos, and
Brandon Decker all earning a spot on one of teams.
Thomas, a sophomore wide receiver from Kissimmee, Florida, was named to the Offensive Second Team for this season's efforts. He led the Pipers in receiving yards on the year with 506 while also racking up 680 yards on kick returns. Thomas averaged 9.92 yards per reception and 19.43 yards per kick return throughout the season. He surpassed 100 receiving yards in three different contests this year and also returned a kick for 72 yards against Gustavus.
The remaining three Pipers were all named to the Honorable Mention Team. Lunceford, a junior wide receiver from Plymouth, Minnesota, was right behind Thomas in receiving yards, finishing with 494 on the season. He averaged 12.35 yards per reception, while also recording a team-long 44-yard reception against Augsburg in the season finale.
Stenroos, a senior linebacker from Prescott, Wisconsin, led the Pipers in tackles in the 2019 season, ending two shy of 100. He also logged five tackles for loss, a sack, two QB hurries, and an interception throughout the year. His interception came against St. Thomas on September 21
st, which set up a first quarter touchdown.
Decker, a senior offensive lineman from Anthem, Arizona, has been a regular for HU in the past three seasons, including starting all 10 games at center this season.

Manny Moton was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team.
