Evan Robert kicked out 31 shots and the Pipers rode a pair of second period goals to a 2-1 win in their season finale Saturday night at St. Thomas.
The Pipers avenged a last minute loss on Friday night with a solid effort against the playoff bound Tommies.Â
Tommy Hall had a goal and an assist for HU, which finished the season 5-18-2 overall, 5-10-1 in MIAC play.Â
After a scoreless first period,
Tyler Nyman finished a play with
Mitch Hall and Tommy 75 seconds into the middle frame to give Hamline a lead they would not surrender.
Tommy Hall upped the margin to 2-0 nine minutes, teaming up with
Brady Crabtree and
Brandon Zajicek.Â
Robert took it from there. The sophomore surrendered a power play goal late in the second period but shut the door from there to earn the win. UST pressed the issue in the third period, pulling their goalie in the late going. But Robert and the Pipers had the answers to end the season on a happy note.
