W Soccer Loses in OT at Whitworth

Lauren Sicora recorded 14 saves but Whitworth found an opening in overtime and edged the HU women's soccer team, 1-0, in the season opener for boh teams in Washington. Sicora, a sophomore, handled six shots in the first half, seven in the second session and one in OT before finally giving way at 94:51. 

Hamline responded with five shots with efforts from Ashlee Olson, Hannah Schatz and Cailey Schmidt landing on goal. 

Hamline will go for a split of their west coast trip Saturday when they face Whitman College. The Blues lost to North Central, 3-0, in their season opener, also in Spokane.
