W Soccer Edged at River Falls

Cailey Schmitt scored her first college goal and assisted on another for the Piper women's soccer team in a 3-2 loss at Wis-River Falls Sunday. The freshman forward offset an early WRF goal to forge a 1-1 tie at halftime. 

The Falcons scored a pair of goals 20 minutes apart in the second half to gain a 3-1 advantage, Schmitt earned an assist on the second HU goal with 4:37 to play in the game.

HU outshot WRF, 25-9, with Schmitt leading the way with nine tries. 

Hamline, now 2-2 overall, opens MIAC play against St. Olaf on Tuesday, September 17 at Paterson Field. Game time is 4:00 p.m,.
